With CUMAC serving over 40,000 New Jersey residents each year, groups provide critical support to our staff and programs, ensuring that we are able to serve all those who come to us in need. CUMAC offers groups a wide variety of volunteer projects, along with a team-building experience that is both fun and educational. Our volunteer teams walk away form their CUMAC experience with a better understanding of hunger, how our community is affected by it, and what they can do to create lasting change. Projects range from sorting food to assembling donations to facility repairs, and are appropriate for individuals or groups on a one-time or ongoing basis. To ensure adequate space CUMAC limits group projects to a maximum of 20 volunteers, though special accommodations can be made. Our fundraising events can always use sponsors. This is a great way to get your company name in front of a new audience. Annual events include CUMAC's Have-A-Heart Auction in February, CUMAC's HELP Dinner in November, concerts, sporting events and several other events throughout the year. CUMAC distributes two million pounds of food a year and large portion of that comes to us via food drives. You can do a themed collection (soup around the Super Bowl), or create a competition between departments — whatever it takes to increase donations. We can help with the logistics and pick-up. GIFTS IN KIND
Does your company produce a product that may benefit CUMAC? Are you upgrading equipment or facilities? Would you like to promote your products or services by providing a gift card or item for our auction? Our needs range from office supplies to warehouse equipment to items we could auction at our annual fundraiser.
Does your company match charitable gifts? If so, you can double (or triple) the impact of your donation! CUMAC can help with the necessary paperwork.
JOIN OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Are you an expert in an arena the Board may benefit from -- like fundraising, warehousing, or responding to community needs? If you have a few hours a month, you may be able to make a huge impact in our work.
Does your company have a foundation or employee giving fund? If hunger or youth issues are a funding priority, CUMAC's feeding program or after school program would be great investments with proven results.
CAUSE RELATED MARKETING
Have a product or service that aligns with CUMAC's mission? Increase sales by showing off your commitment to community, and promise a portion of proceeds to CUMAC. The possibilities are endless.
Are you an IT guru? Do you know warehouse management? You may be able to support CUMAC's work by sharing your best practices.
CUMAC often needs to spread the word about issues affecting our clients -- like cuts to school meal programs. You can help share the need or join letter writing campaigns.
